This course is designed to further develop the concepts withinthe three domains of the individual, health care, and nursing. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of cellular regulation, perfusion, infection, immunity, mobility, comfort, behaviors, health-wellness-illness, clinical decision-making, caring interventions, managing care, and safety. Upon completion, students should be able to provide safe nursing care incorporating the concepts identified in this course.
This course includes conceps related to the nursing care of individuals experiencing alterations in social and psychological functioning. Emphasis is placed on utilizing te nursing process to provide and manage nursing care for individuals with common psychiatric disorders or mental health needs. Upon completion, students should be able to apply psychosocial theories in the nursing care of individuals with psychiatric/mental health needs.
